Our Wedding

We met on Tinder on December 15, 2019, while Stephanie was visiting family in Houston for the holidays. Our first date was a few days later at The Cheesecake Factory, followed by drinks at a nearby bar. Stephanie was quiet and nervous about her English, and Craig tried his best to charm her (he even ordered a mojito in a beer bar and somehow got one!). Over the next few weeks we enjoyed the Sugar Land Christmas lights, rang in the New Year together, took a ghost tour in Memorial Park, and packed in as many small adventures as we could. Almost a month after we met, Stephanie flew back to Mexico; this photo was taken just hours before she boarded. We were nervous, excited, and ready to see where a long-distance relationship would take us.

The Beginning of Our Story

Long-Distance, Deepening Love

We were fortunate to have flexible jobs that allowed frequent travel between Houston and Mexico City, and we filled our time together with adventures: snuba and zip-lining in Cancún, scuba diving in Acapulco, Tequila Train in Guadalajara, and hang gliding in Valle de Bravo. After many emotional farewells at the airport, we adopted a rule of booking the next flight immediately so we could count the days until we reunited. While apart, we maintained our connection with nightly video calls, synchronized movie nights, and surprise food deliveries; sustaining a long-distance relationship was difficult, but our commitment endured for two and a half years until Stephanie received the life-changing news that brought us back together.

Chicago, Here We Come!

Craig had been clear he couldn’t move to Mexico, and Stephanie took it as a challenge. When a role opened on the US team (big shout out to Thalia for the tip), Stephanie applied, never imagining that a few weeks later, while we were on vacations in Guadalajara, she’d get the call: she got the job. Excited that we’d finally be in the same country, Stephanie packed her life into four checked bags and two carry-ons, and with Craig’s help we flew to Chicago on July 4, 2022. The first months were an adventure as Stephanie adjusted to a new city and US traditions, and when Craig later moved in the real adventure began: snowy winters, lots of deep-dish pizza, a new apartment nearly every year, and learning how to build a life together.

Craig’s First Trip to Peru

At the end of 2022 we traveled to Peru to spend Christmas with Stephanie’s family. Craig’s first trip to South America and his first time meeting everyone. From the start he was struck by how welcoming they were; Stephanie’s mom kept offering him food and treats, and he happily said yes to everything. It was a summer Christmas: dinner on Christmas Eve, gifts at midnight, and a relaxed Christmas Day. We took a family trip to Arequipa and a shorter visit to Cusco just the two of us; political unrest cut our plans short so Craig didn’t make it to Machu Picchu, but we still slept in a mountain pod and made the most of the adventure. The trip was full of new traditions, laughter, and memories that refreshed us before returning to work.

Time to Keep Moving, On to New Jersey

After three years in Chicago, Stephanie accepted a new opportunity at work and we decided to move to New Jersey. We toured nearly 25 apartments before finding the perfect place close to Stephanie’s office and moved in July 2025. Being near New York, Washington and Boston opened up so many new adventures as concerts, events, and weekend getaways, and we loved exploring new places together.

We’re Engaged!

On June 27, 2026, Craig invited Stephanie to a date night - one of our regular weekly outings - but he had a plan. Craig took Stephanie to The Highlawn, a restaurant with an incredible view of the city, knowing how much she loves New York. After steaks and a lovely conversation, as we were about to leave, Craig got down on one knee, gave a short speech (that Stephanie doesn't remember), and asked the question she’d been waiting for. Stephanie kept saying yes, and just like that our new chapter as fiancés began.

Tania is Stephanie’s sister. While Stephanie was in school, she visited Tania and her husband Jorge wherever they lived - Bolivia, Brazil, and U.S. - and Tania loved having her company. They sneaked in horror movies once the babies were asleep, bonded over Christmas stocking, and shared a passion for creative projects. Those visits helped Stephanie sharpen her English and discover a love of crafting. Open to listen and always willing to help, Tania is the perfect Matron of Honor.

Austin is Craig’s best friend and the person Craig calls first for good news or bad. Their friendship started years ago and quickly became constant - countless road trips, late-night talks, and a shared love of cars that still gets teased: they still joke about Craig saying Austin should’ve gotten a Camaro instead of a Mustang. Warm, loyal, and always up for a laugh, Austin’s presence makes the day feel complete.

Gisela is Stephanie’s sister. Fiercely protective and deeply caring, she’s always the first to offer help and looks out for everyone’s well‑being. She can drive us a little crazy sometimes but her intensity comes from love and we can always count on her. She’s quick to smile, makes friends wherever she goes, and is the family’s unofficial photographer, documenting moments big and small - be ready to smile if you are standing next to her! 

Gisela Huamán

Danny is Craig’s little brother and lifelong partner in mischief. From shared childhood secrets and broken lamps to late‑night Xbox matches (and the occasional missing game disc), Danny has always been by Craig’s side. Craig and Stephanie loved cheering Xavier on during East Coast games and spending extra time with Danny and his wife, Peyton. Reliable, funny, and fiercely loyal, he’s being promoted from annoying sibling to VIP groomsman.

Daniel Walters

Thalía met Stephanie when she moved to Mexico and immediately took her under her wing—steering her away from a risky apartment and teaching her how to use the metro. She was the first to notice the new sparkle in Stephanie’s eyes after the Houston trip when she met Craig. Generous and welcoming, Thalía hosted Stephanie and Craig during their 2023 trip to Mexico for a Taylor Swift concert and has been a constant source of support and joy.

Will met Craig through his now‑wife, Kendall, and quickly became part of their close‑knit friend group. Always just a phone call away, Will is a loyal friend and a patient listener; they can spend hours excitedly talking about IT like kids with a new toy. Bonding over trips to youth conferences, from Miami Beach parties to late‑night Chicago hot dog runs, those adventures created the kind of friendship Craig truly treasures.

Will Orr

Paola began as Stephanie’s boss and quickly became a loyal friend. They bonded over late nights working on controls and celebratory McDonald’s runs. When Paola moved to Canada, Stephanie cheered her on for chasing her dreams, and their friendship stayed strong through regular video calls and shared life updates. A thoughtful listener who never judges, Paola always looks on the bright side and brings steady support to Stephanie’s life.

Craig met Kenton in 2018 when Kenton managed the property where Craig’s storage unit was. Their first interaction was Craig bringing Kenton a bottle of Jack Daniel’s to thank him for letting Craig stay past closing time to work on his 4Runner in the unit. That act of gratitude turned into friendship. Kenton’s steady, down-to-earth presence and easy humor have made him a trusted friend and a valued groomsman.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is Houston’s largest airport, offering nonstop flights from major cities across the U.S. and around the world. Located about 50 minutes from Katy, it’s a convenient choice for many out-of-town guests.

William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is Houston’s second major airport, serving primarily domestic flights and select international destinations. Located about 45 minutes from Katy, it’s a great option for guests flying Southwest Airlines or looking for a smaller, easy-to-navigate airport.
